Schlather Park

(18 Hole) – 340 Wiedner Rd. Cibolo, TX 78108 (Lightly wooded w/ some marsh areas)

Schlather Park is a nice 18 hole, par 54 disc golf course located in Cibolo, TX.

This course is really pretty and offers a lot of open distance shots leading up to baskets, hiding behind groups of trees. You can usually count on putting in the shade, which means your approaches will require a lot of thought to make sure there is not a tree blocking that perfect put.

Although it can be exciting to walk up and be able to pick out a large open area to shoot through on a lot of drives, the course can also be very punishing. The front 9 weaves it’s trails around some shallow watery marsh pits that are just begging for their next disc. So where there might not be a tree in your view, its the surface that can really affect your strategy on the earlier holes. The water is generally shallow enough to retrieve your discs if you are willing to get your feet wet.

As you work your way to the back 9, you will notice less water but there will be more trees to work your way around off the tee box. It is a fun course to play and it really makes you think. The difficulty of some of the holes can be pretty deceiving and will leave you wanting to play this one again as you grab your disc out of basket 18.
