Explore higher-speed distance with the Dino Discs Egg Shell Allosaurus. This understable 12-speed distance driver pairs plenty of glide with lightweight construction, but still requires enough power to unlock its full flight. Its understability makes it more approachable for a 12-speed, not a substitute for the arm speed a high-speed driver needs.
Flight Characteristics
The Allosaurus combines high-speed turn, generous glide, and a gentle finishing fade when thrown with enough power. While its understable flight makes it an easier-to-throw 12-speed distance driver, younger kids and lower-arm-speed players may not see the full turn and glide its flight numbers suggest. The light weights can help, but getting a full flight from this higher-speed disc will still test their power.
- Speed: 12 | Glide: 6 | Turn: -3 | Fade: 1
Features
- Egg Shell Plastic: A grippy blend with a feel between baseline and premium plastics. It offers more durability than traditional baseline putter plastics, but less resistance to wear than premium blends.
- Lightweight Design: Very light weights can help younger players and lower arm speeds approach a higher-speed driver, though power is still needed for full flight.
- Understable Distance Flight: High-speed turn and plenty of glide with a gentle finish when thrown with sufficient power.
- Floats in Water: Lightweight construction allows the Allosaurus to float.
Who Is This Disc For?
- Developing Players with More Power: Players ready to explore a lightweight 12-speed distance driver and work toward its full flight.
- Younger Kids and Lower Arm Speeds: The light weight may help, but the Allosaurus will still challenge their power. Understable does not mean every player will get a full high-speed flight.
- Casual Play: Recreational rounds and practice outside sanctioned tournament play.
Not PDGA Approved
Dino Discs meet PDGA technical specifications, and many give previously approved molds from other brands a new life. The brand skips the paid approval process to keep prices down for its core audience: kids learning the game, not competing in sanctioned tournaments. So while they are not PDGA approved, they do meet the requirements.
These discs are not PDGA approved and are intended for casual play, not sanctioned PDGA tournaments.
