About Mint Discs
Mint Discs offers a uniquely detailed approach to performance, style, and design in disc golf. Minted in the heart of Austin, Texas, the company operates with a focus on meticulous quality control and clear player metrics. By utilizing a strict serial number tracking system on every single disc, Mint allows players to know the exact run, plastic type, and year of production — removing the guessing game from finding a backup or keeping a beloved flight path in your bag.
Mint Discs Plastics Guide
Mint Discs pairs its custom-engineered molds with some of the most acclaimed polymer technology in the industry to offer elite durability and performance.
Premium Plastics
- Apex — A flagship premium blend that is traditionally opaque, offering a top-tier balance of pliable grip, rich colors, and excellent glide.
- Eternal — A transparent "candy" plastic built for extreme durability, providing maximum longevity and highly predictable, stable flights over time.
- Sublime — A premium, eye-catching blend featuring an opaque metallic or shimmering look, a highly tactile feel, and the home for specialized Artist Series stamps.
Performance & Specialty Plastics
- Nocturnal — A high-visibility premium glow material built with a glow additive over an Eternal base, offering slightly added stability for night or day rounds.
- Apex Swirl / Soft — Specialized variations of standard Apex, offering striking multi-tone color aesthetics or modified flexibility to alter hand feel.
Baseline Plastics
- Royal Firm — A stiff, pro-grade baseline polymer designed with superior all-weather grip and minimal flex, ideal for putters that hold their line.
- Royal Medium — The middle ground between Firm and Soft, offering a balanced blend of structure and flex with a comfortable, tacky feel that breaks in nicely over time.
- Royal Soft — Softer than Medium in the Royal lineup, designed for players who prefer a pliable, high-grip feel that molds to the hand and breaks in quickly for added glide.
- Royal Mega Soft — Super flexible and tacky option in the Royal lineup, designed for players who really want to limit ground play or love a super flexible soft feel in the hand.
Manufacturing & Consistency
Mint Discs utilizes a strategic multi-manufacturer sourcing model to scale production and expand its engineering capabilities. Mint is partnered with two of the industry's premier production facilities — MVP Disc Sports and Prodigy Disc..
To maintain total consistency for players, Mint keeps its molds completely isolated between factories:
- MVP Disc Sports — Legacy and newer models built by MVP Disc Sports will continue to be produced exclusively by MVP.
- Prodigy Disc — Molds co-developed and pressed by Prodigy Disc will continue to be produced exclusively at their facility.
- No Factory Cross-Sharing — Molds are never shared or transferred between the two manufacturers, ensuring the flight paths, dimensions, and feel of your favorite serial runs remain identical from release to release.
