Founded in 1983 by Dave Dunipace, Innova revolutionized the sport by creating the first disc specifically designed for disc golf, featuring a bevel-rimmed design for enhanced performance. That disc was the Eagle. Innova Plastic Types Guide

Premium Plastic Lines

  • DUO: A combination of two plastics split to form the disc, not blended together. This is most commonly done with Star and Champion Metal Flake and Champion Moondust. It's looks really cool and offers your choice of grip. 
  • Star: Offers a durable, tacky grip with excellent longevity and a slightly softer feel than Champion.
  • Champion: Known for extreme durability and a firm, translucent, glossy appearance, offering consistent flight over time.
  • Halo Star: Combines the durability of Star plastic with a two-tone appearance, and tends to add increased high-speed stability.
  • GStar: A soft, flexible, and grippy blend designed for maximum performance in cold weather.
  • Blizzard Champion: Integrates micro-bubbles into the Champion formula to create lighter-weight discs that retain high durability.

Baseline & Specialized Baseline Lines

  • DX: The most affordable and foundational plastic, offering excellent grip. Breaks in faster but lacks durability of premium blends. 
  • KC Pro: A firm, stiff blend favored for its durability and consistent performance, often used for putting.
  • R-Pro: A flexible, rubbery feeling, and incredibly grippy blend that excels in cold, wet conditions.
  • XT: A durable baseline blend with superior grip. Firmer than R-Pro, less firm than KC Pro.
  • Nexus: A rigid, tacky plastic that combines the stiffness of Pro blends with added grip for consistent putting. More durable than DX.

Specialized Blends and Extra Details

  • Metal Flake Champion: Built upon the ultra-durable translucent Champion foundation, this blend is injected with evenly spaced metallic foil sparkles.
  • Luster Champion: A highly specialized variant of translucent Champion plastic infused with fine pearlescent additives rather than large flakes.
  • Shimmer Star: A premium modification of opaque Star plastic blended with flexible cosmetic materials to produce a unique, metallic "oil-slick" look.
  • Moondust Champion: An advanced premium evolution that fuses smooth, pearlescent Luster Champion with an exceptionally dense concentration of micro-fine metallic powder. Visually, it generates an opaque, cloudy shimmer effect across the entire flight plate.
