McClain Park

(18 Hole) – 15706 Tampke Pl. San Antonio, TX 78247 (Wooded, Tight Course)

The McClain disc golf course is a nice park located in San Antonio, TX. It’s located just off 1604 and O’Conner Rd. in Knoll Creek and is actually in the parking lot of Longs Creek Elementary School.

The park is a fun and challenging wooded course with very tight paths. It features multiple tee pads with the far tees having two par 4 holes making the course a par 56.

You definitely need to play the course a few times to learn all the nooks and crannies and best places to lay your drives down for that perfect approach shot. It’s hard to see the best line off the tee pad on a lot of the holes, so repeating this course is a must. The lanes are tight so bring your accuracy for this one.

The abundance of trees provide a large amount of shade which makes it really nice to play in on a hot day. The atmosphere is very relaxing and there are nice elevations that add a lot of character to the course which really helps you enjoy nature as your playing a round of disc golf.

This course does tend to get a little crowded with it being a popular place to hold mini tournaments and full tournaments alike. There are always people out there playing so if your looking for a popular course, this is the one to hit.

The ground does get quite muddy and wet after it rains so keep that in mind when planning your next trip. If it recently rained and you don’t want to play in the mud, I suggest a different course.
